Marco Brianza (Varese, 1972) is a visual artist that bases his work on the observation of the changes in the physical world, mainly focusing on light phenomena. To capture the essence of the changes, Marco Brianza uses photography conceived as a recording of light variations. He uses sensors of different complexity, from the simple lux-meter to the high-resolution video. To convey the essence of the phenomena, the artist realizes software algorithms that process and select the information. The works are presented through different aesthetic forms, using techniques that range from prints on paper to ambient installations that use luminous devices and displays, custom made by the artist himself. With his work, Marco Brianza intends to stimulate the observer to reflect on the basics of reality, memory, space in time and life as interactions among elaborating processes.
